Living with Gratitude

Are you aligned with your true values or are you living up to societies expectations; or the expectations of other people around you?

Many of us move through life on a path that we seemingly haven’t created for ourselves, without a clear idea of how we got there. True happiness only comes about when we are aligned with our true purpose. Unless we are clear on our true purpose it is easy to flounder and go off course. It’s like you are standing in the middle of a road with fog so thick that you can’t see where the road leads, suddenly the fog lifts and you can clearly see where the road is going to take you.

To help you become clear it is helpful to focus on three key points:

  • What do you have? Target in on the wonderful things that make up your life at this very moment. Your children, your health, the sun coming up, your 10am coffee. It doesn’t have to be a large list but it does have to be things that bring a smile to your face when you think of them.

  • What do you need? What do you need to fill up your ‘have’ bucket? I need to develop friendships, look after myself, take time out, feel loved, follow my dreams.

  • What do you want? To be healthy, to have freedom, support, success in …

When we focus on what we have and what we want then we can work towards a goal. When you know what you want and what you need then we have clarity. When you know what you need and what you have then you obtain motivation. When everything comes together we are in alignment and feel deep gratitude.

“Gratitude is the thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible.” – Harvard Medical School

When we achieve a state of gratitude for what you do have you will not only become a happier person, but your life will have more meaning and your attitude will spread to others allowing you to gain all you desire.

When we look into the mirror of life we are simply reflecting back the current version of ourselves. Once we are in alignment and live in a state of gratitude for what we have and for what we will become then we begin to reflect a new reality.
